It is with great joy that I announce that I have just been selected as a shortlisted candidate for the Chadwell Award! Stay tuned for the announcement of the official winner of the prize later this summer, fingers crossed!
About the award:
The Chadwell Award provides a bridge between art school and practice as a professional artist by giving a recent Fine Art MA graduate a free studio in Bow, London for a year, together with a bursary of £1,000. In addition there will be a discretionary purchase grant of up to £4,000 to buy a work from the award holder at their end-of-award show.
This award was set up by Andrew Post and Mary Aylmer in 2010 in memory of Andrew’s mother.
The award is offered to students who are about to complete postgraduate courses.
The award is not open to all simply because we do not want to have a large number of applicants for just one place.
In 2018 the award will be offered to postgraduate students studying fine art at The Royal Academy Schools, The Royal College of Art and The Slade School of Fine Art. 2018 Selection panel: Andrew Post and Mary Aylmer (Patrons) and Ben Elwes (Director of Ben Elwes Gallery), Alex Hartley (Artist) and Sophie Hill (Co-Gallery Director, Nunnery Gallery).
I am over the moon to be included in this years John Moores Painting Prize! I have now been selected as one of the shortlisted candidates for the prize and will have my work shown at the Walker Art Gallery as a part of the John Moores Painting Prize exhibition, which will kick off the Liverpool Biennial. The Private View will be held on July 12th, where prize winners will be announced. The exhibition will run from the 14th of July till the 18th of November.
